A hair design contest featuring Hanoi’s hairstyles over the last 1,000 years has been launched as part of activities to mark the millennium anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The competition running from June 1 is for Vietnamese hair designers aged between 18 and 40 living in the country and overseas.

Traditional Vietnamese hairstyles in the past as well as modern and charming styles representing the development of present hair fashion will be the focus of the contest.

Contestants must send photos of their designs and video clips, showing the process during which hairstyles are created, to the Tra Giang International Company, situated at 55 De Quai Street, Tay Ho district, Hanoi, before August 10. Selected designs will be presented on the final night in late August.

The competition is co-organised by the Tra Giang Int’l Company, the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi, Selective Professional hair care products and Chihtsai Hair Care.
