Italian music month celebrates Hanoi’s millennial anniversary

The Italian embassy in Hanoi has announced the ‘Italian Music Month in Vietnam’ as part of the embassy’s activities to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The Italian Music Month will take place in Hanoi Opera House from September 11 to October 15 with the participation of several renowned Italian musicians and singers plus some Vietnamese artists.

The first performance on September 11 will involve Italian pianist Cesaro Griminelli and Vietnamese composer Tri Minh. The next day, Hanoians will enjoy a special concert given by famous flutist Andrea Grimenelli as part of his 2010 tour of Asia.

The ‘month’ will end with a performance by Italian pianist Gabriele Carcano and the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra.

Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrea Perugini stated that this special programme will strengthen cooperative ties between Italy and Vietnam and help international friends better understand Vietnam and its people.
