The second Buon Ma Thuot coffee festival is due to open on the evening of December 10 and the opening ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV1 at 8pm.

As part of the festival, a trade fair opened in the Central Highland province of Dak Lak earlier in the morning, attracting hundreds of people and tourists.

The event is expected to promote the image of Dak Lak and help turn Vietnam’s coffee into a famous brand in the world.

The trade fair has 400 booths displaying coffee processing machines, coffee beans and scientific projects on coffee from 150 countries.

The same morning, a helicopter air-crew carrying the world record-breaking biggest coffee cup, made by the Vinacafe Company, circled 8 times above the Dak Lak Museum in 1 hour.

A photo exhibition themed “Dak Lak’s coffee on the path of development and integration” also took place with 16 artists winning prizes at a ceremony held on the occasion.
