Vietnamese puppeteers to play Myth on Fairy and Dragon
Vietnamese puppeteers will bring a show entitled “The Myth on the Fairy and the Dragon” to the International Puppet Festival in Hanoi, slated for February 16 - 23.
The puppeteers will use both water puppets and string marionettes to portray the legend on Au Co and Lac Long Quan whose one hundred children are believed to be the ancestors of Vietnamese people.
Nguyen Hoang Tuan, Vice Director of the Thang Long Puppet Theatre and director of the show, said his theatre will invest in plays that combine water puppets and other kinds of puppets, such as hand, string or finger puppets to show the unique art of Vietnam.
