More than 40 works by Vietnam’s wood carving artist Hoang Minh Phuc, are being displayed at the Vietnam Cultural Centre in France from December 4.  

The exhibition will introduce to the French people and the Vietnamese community in France to the traditional technique of painted wood carving.

Hoang said that this kind of art attracted her attention not only because of its technique but also its expression. She learnt the traditional ways of wood carving from artisans in the traditional painting villages of Dong Ho, Hang Trong, Sinh and Kim Hoa.

She will have another exhibition of wood carving in Bonn and Berlin, Germany in February next year.
