Brest Sea Festival 2008 opened in the port city of Brest, France on July 11 with the participation of representatives from 25 nations in the world including Vietnam.

A delegation from the northern port city of Hai Phong represented Vietnam to attend the festival as a honourable guest together with Croatia, Madagascar, Norway and Galice region, Spain.
