Cuban television presented a documentary film on Vietnam's late President Ho Chi Minh and Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on August 13.
The film, entitled “Convergence,” tells the story of the two former Presidents’ lives and revolutionary causes and their contributions to their countries’ struggles for national independence and world revolutionary movement.
“Convergence” was screened on the occasion of Fidel Castro’s 84th birthday (August 13) and to mark the 65th anniversary of Vietnam’s Independence Day (September 2) and 50 years of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic ties.
Late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro are not only the brilliant leaders of Vietnam and Cuba but also of the world, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Vu Chi Cong declared at the film’s presentation.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Cuban people’s solidarity and friendship over the last 50 years.
Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Fredesman Turro Gonzales spoke highly of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements, asserting that the country is making efforts to build a more beautiful and prosperous country as Uncle Ho had wished.
The 60-minute film was directed by Carlos Manuel and produced jointly in 2009 by Mundo Latino studio under the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee and Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications.
