Ancient artifacts unearthed in Con Dao island district

Archaeologists have unearthed hundreds of stone and earthenware artifacts believed to be nearly 3,000 years old on the Sa Huynh culture on the An Hai islet on the Con Dao island, a district of the southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

Dr Nguyen Trung Chien, head of the archaeologist group taking part in the 98 sq. m excavations, said on November 5-13 that the site revealed two ancient fire ovens, 144 stone tools, two pieces of jewelry, two items made of buffalo teeth and hundreds of other ancient objects.
