Going for leaf fish

Leaf fish is only larger than two fingers, really fond of eating and swimming in schools along Tam Giang river dyke (Song Cau town).

Fishing for leaf fish is not difficult and neither does one need fishing hooks. One only needs to use a split-into-two plastic bottle, without the bottle part, the bottle lid is clubbed into a hole to tie one end of the line to the bottle.

One piece of heavy lead helps the bottle sink when thrown into the water. The bait is merely… cassava flour. Only this can bring about a plastic nylon bag full of fish. The most interesting part is when pulling out of the water surface; the fish is neatly “placed” in the bottle and waggle the brightly shining tails.
