Sarah Chang, a famed American-Korean violist will perform at the 14th Hennessy concert in the Hanoi’s Opera House on January 22.

The concert will also feature famous American pianist Andrew Von Oeyen and the classical works of Johann Brahms and Cesar Frank.

Recognised as one of the world’s most captivating and gifted classical artists, Chang has toured all over Asia, Europe and the US and play with some of the world’s major philharmonic orchestras from New York, Philadelphia, Berlin and Vienna.

At the 2004 Olympics she had the honor of running with the Olympic Torch in New York and was the youngest artist to have ever entered the Hollywood Bowl’s Hall of Fame. She has also won the Avery Fishers, one of the highest prestigious prizes for an American musician.

Andrew Von Oeyen, a top world pianist, has played with a number of world-famous orchestras but this is the first time that he will perform with Chang.

First set up in 1996, the Hennessy Concert, organised by the Moet Hennessy Group and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to bring talented international artists to Vietnamese audiences.

The concert will be broadcast live on a wide screen in Cach Mang Thang Tam (August Revolution) square and on Vietnamese Television.
