A Vietnam-Laos special cultural exchange programme was held at the Lao National Cultural Palace on Jan. 15 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the two countries’ friendship associations (Jan. 15).

Themed “Viet-Laos in my heart”, the art performance highlighted the two countries’ cultural identities and their special friendship.

The event was an opportunity for youths in both countries to better understand their traditional relationship, showing their determination to foster, build and develop bilateral ties.

Addressing the event, Lao Vice State President Bounnhang Volachit hailed achievements made by the two friendship associations over the past 35 years, saying they serve as bridges to comprehensive cooperation between the governmental and private agencies, contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnam-Laos special friendship.

Also present at the function, Vietnamese Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan expressed sincere thanks for the heart-felt support and assistance given by the Lao Party, State and people to the Vietnamese people’s struggle for national liberation, defence and construction.

The event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and the Vietnam-Laos friendship association together with several Vietnamese and Lao agencies and organisations.
