RoK exhibition presents traditional art

An exhibition of arts and crafts is open at the Korean Cultural Centre in Hanoi, featuring 60 objects made of diverse material.

The exhibits were made by a group of 21 artisans set up in 2008 in the Republic of Korea.

Sixty fine arts and crafts items made of ceramic, porcelain, fabric, wood, paper, stone and metal depict things in daily life, such as apples, card holders, necklaces and lamps.

They were made in the traditions of folk art passed down through generations in the Republic of Korea, said Hyung Keum-gi, director of the centre. They represented very sophisticated, skilful and fine RoK craftsmanship in traditional materials.

The works are particularly interesting for Vietnamese people who share many similarities in culture, said artist Park Mi-hwa.

The artists, led by Han Hyang-lim, are in Vietnam for the exhibition, which will run until December 4.
