Overseas Vietnamese in Switzerland believe the Congress will bring about significant improvements in the country’s socio-economic development.

According to Vu Anh Quang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation and other international organizations in Geneva, the Party Committee has held various activities to contribute to the Congress.

The Party Committee has undertaken research projects to contribute ideas to the Congress’s draft resolution, especially in terms of foreign policies for the 2011-2020 period, he said.

Quang said the Party Committee also provided assessment on the world’s economic potential in 2011, as well as information on other countries’ experiences in dealing with the economic crisis, laying a foundation for the Party and State to issue the best policies in the future.

Like many Vietnamese businesspeople and economists working in Switzerland, party members at the Mission also hoped that the Party will be able to introduce an effective mechanism to deal with corruption and take advantage of the potential of each party member to contribute to the country’s cause for construction and defence.

That will help Vietnam to gain great socio-economic achievements in the future, they said.
