This was announced by Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member, in the final session of the 11^th National Party Congress in Hanoi on January 19.

The Party Central Committee also elected a 14-member Politburo including Nguyen Phu Trong, Nguyen Tan Dung, Truong Tan Sang, Nguyen Sinh Hung, Phung Quang Thanh, Le Hong Anh, Pham Quang Nghi, Le Thanh Hai, To Huy Rua, Dinh The Huynh, Ngo Van Du, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Tran Dai Quang, and Tong Thi Phong.

Four members of the Secretariat are Ngo Xuan Lich, Truong Hoa Binh, Ha Thi Khiet, and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The Politburo and Secretariat members of the 11^th tenure then made their debut at the Congress.
