Gia Lai hosts International Gong Festival

Eleven art troupes from Vietnam’s ethnic minorities such as the Bahnar, Ede, Ma, K’Ho and Chu Ru from the Highlands, as well as representatives from other countries will take part in an international gong festival in Pleiku, in the central highland province of Gia Lai in November 8.

The festival will also draw the participation of many other ethnic minorities across the country such as the Muong, Thai, Cham, Khmer, Hre and Ca Tu.

At a press conference in Hanoi on June 26, the organising board announced that the festival will feature many unique and attractive performances from different gong.

Along with the performances, there will be an exhibition and a workshop on how to preserve and develop the cultural identity.
