Tourist companies are reporting a drastic drop in the number of people traveling to the northern region during Tet (Lunar New Year).

Holidaymakers are choosing other warmer destinations in the southern and central regions.

The tourist companies also report that over 90 percent of their Tet tours are prior bookings with three to four day itineraries.
