August and the filial piety season together with vegetarian menu

These hotels, restaurants and resorts are subsidiaries of Saigontourist Holding Company. Apart from other vegetarian restaurants, there are establishments that occasionally serve vegetarian food. Here below are some recommended places for tourist in Vietnam travel as well as who want to eat vegetarian.

Dong Khanh’s seafood buffet

Dong Khanh Restaurant, a section of Dong Khanh Hotel, has launched its new dinner buffet for August featuring seafoods. The buffet is served every week from Monday to Thursday, from 6:00-9:30 p.m.

Seafood dishes for the buffet include jellyfish salad with wasabi, fish fried with sesame, and rice porridge with abalone and scallop. The dishes, prepared by professional cooks, go along with more than 10 kinds of sweet soups, cakes and fruits for dessert. In addition, there is also a separate counter for vegetarian dishes.

The dinner buffet costs an adult VND229,000 (US$10.9) and a child VND139,000. The restaurant offers one ticket for every 10 tickets bought one day before the buffet. It also gives a 10% discount voucher for the next buffet to customers that cannot reserve tables but buy at least 10 tickets.

In addition, as from August 1, Dong Khanh Restaurant charges adults VND139,000 and children VND99,000 each for having its lunch buffet, which is served every day from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

The restaurant will continue serving hot pot buffets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights until September 31. Taking it, diners will enjoy hot pot dishes from nearly 30 kinds of ingredients together with more than 10 hot dishes and desserts. The prices for this buffet are VND199,000 for an adult and VND139,000 for a child.

In regard to its party service, the restaurant gives customers a 15% discount for ordering an evening party with at least 10 tables. It also cuts 15% of the price for a 10-table party ordered for August, and offers a 10% discount for a mid-week dinner buffet (Monday to Friday) until September.

Tasting vegetarian dishes at Van Canh

Van Canh Restaurant has launched its traditional month of vegetarian cuisine to welcome Vu Lan Festival, an occasion in a lunar year’s seventh month for people to express love to their parents and ancestors.

During the program (July 30-August 29), the restaurant serves buffets every day from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and from 5:30-9:00 p.m.

Taking the buffet, diners will discover and enjoy a world of nice, delicious and nutritious vegetarian dishes prepared from natural materials.

Lunch and dinner buffets cost an adult VND130,000 (US$6.2) and VND160,000 respectively, and a child VND80,000. Those who buy 10 tickets are given a free ticket and a 5% discount for the next time.

At the buffet, diners can buy gifts and souvenirs made by the disabled children of An Phuc Home for Disabled Children.

The program, called “Saigon with vegetarian dishes,” has been carried out annually by the restaurant since 2000. Apart from this program, the restaurant has also served vegetarian buffets for Nguyen Tieu Festival, which falls on the 15th of the first lunar month.

Tan Cang’s vegetarian food complimentary

Tan Cang Resort will serve vegetarian dishes free from 5 p.m. of August 15-30. Accordingly, customers who take a non-vegetarian buffet will be able to enjoy vegetarian dishes as extras.

The buffet goes with 60 hot pot and grilled dishes. Buffet tickets are priced at VND250,000 (US$11.9) for an adult and VND140,000 for a child.
