A group of beauties from the US, Canada, India, the Philippines and Guam, who came for the Miss Universe 2008 pageant, visited patients in south central Khanh Hoa province.

They visited the USNS Mercy hospital ship of the US, which is undertaking a medical humanitarian mission in the province, and patients at clinics in Nha Trang city and Dien Khanh district.

They were among contestants in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant, which is scheduled to take place in Nha Trang city from July 7-14.

More than 800 international and local reporters have registered to cover the event.

The final event will be broadcast live at the Crown Convention Centre in Nha Trang on July 14, both by local television and the National Broadcasting Company (NBC).
