Over 90 beauty queens from all over the world will take part in the 2010 Miss Earth Pageant at the Vinpearl resort in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province.

They will arrive in Vietnam on November 4 and contest in a range of activities in HCM City (November 4-13), at the beach resort of Phan Thiet (November 15-17) and in the ancient town of Hoi An (November 17-19) before gathering for the final round on December 4, said a spokesperson for the organisers at a press conference on August 25.

The beauties will also join in doing charity work, cycling, street cleaning and some other activities.

Besides the four main prizes, the other bonus prizes are Miss Bikini, Miss Talent, Miss Traditional Costume, Miss Photogenic, Miss Friendly and Miss Ao Dai.

The beauty contest was first launched by the Philippines Carousel Production Company in 2001 to promote environmentally-friendly activities. Vietnam is the only second to the Philippines in hosting the annual event.
