A seminar on Japanese literature was jointly held by the Japanese Cultural Exchange Centre and the Consulate-General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City on September 25 to mark the “Japan-Mekong Exchange Year 2009”.

At the seminar, literature professors from Tokyo University presented a general introduction to Japanese literature up to the 21^st century with works by famous authors and poets such as Soseki Natsume, Haruki Murakami, and other authors from previous generation.

The event was attended by Vietnamese author such as Nguyen Ngoc, Nhat Chieu, Nguyen Danh Lam and Vice-Professor Doan Le Giang.

During the seminar, the participants discussed how best to bring Japanese literature to Vietnamese readers and vice versa.
