According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2010, with a series of domestic and oversea political and cultural events, Quang Ninh has many chances to promote its image and welcome tourists.

Furthermore, with the investment into new tourist services of high quality, the province's tourism sector has improved both quantity and quality. By the end of October 2010, Quang Ninh welcomed 5,865,000 arrivals including 1,5 million int'l tourists, equal to 138% over the same period last year, with VND 2,900 billion in revenue.

Specially, tourists visiting Ha Long Bay and provincial attractions strongly increased. In Yen Tu, arrivals were estimated to reach 1,9 million with VND 323 billion in turnover. And revenue of Ha Long Bay's entrance fees was nearly VND 80 billion.

In the coming time, Ha Long Bay will be in the final round of the vote for one of the 7 new wonders of the world. This will be a great opportunity for Quang Ninh tourism to gain new achievements.
