The highest rises were seen in the prices of most of basic commodities including fruits, vegetables, sugar for the Traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet).

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the price of rice in the northern region remains stable and that of fresh meat is going up.

February often sees price hikes compared to previous months in certain commodity groups such as food and drink, tobacco, transportation and cultural, sports and entertainment services.
