Ten outstanding songs from the campaign to compose as song on the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) were introduced and given awards at a ceremony in Hanoi on September 18.

The campaign, which began in Hanoi on May 22, attracted more than 40 Vietnamese professional and amateur music composers from across the country. It aimed to introduce Vietnam’s unique culture and boost solidarity and mutual understanding among AIPA members and other parliaments around the world.

This is part of the activities to welcome Vietnam’s Chairmanship of the 2009-2010 AIPA and the 31st AIPA General Assembly, which will be held in Hanoi in September.

The awards ceremony was held by the 31^st AIPA organizing committee, the Vietnam Musicians’ Association and Radio the Voice of Vietnam.
