Norwegian intellectuals present gifts to Vietnam

Two Norwegian intellectuals have presented a statue of the late President Ho Chi Minh and a book on Vietnam to the country on the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

A presentation ceremony was held in Norway on August 18 by the Vietnamese Embassy.

Well-known Norwegian artist Olav Orud used black gypsum and sculpted a life-size bust the same size as the bronze statue of Uncle Ho the artist exhibited in Hanoi in 2001. The bronze statue is now displayed in the Henrik Ibsen museum in the Norwegian capital city of Oslo.

On this occasion, James Godbolt, a lecturer from Vestfold University handed over his book titled “Vietnam movements in Norway” to Vietnamese Ambassador Ta Van Thong.

Ambassador Thong thanked the sculpture artist and lecturer for their warm affections to Vietnam. The two intellectuals actively donated to the Vietnam movements during the 1970s.
