Ho Dynasty Citadel looks for world heritage status

Details of the Ho Dynasty Citadel have been sent to Paris for consideration by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) as a world heritage site. 

The 161-page document and its annex includes photos, technical architectural drawings, videos and illustrations of the citadel and management plans.

Built about 600 years ago, with four gates in the central of each of the walls South, North, East and West, the Ho Dynasty Citadel an old military construction of great cultural and historical value. It was the old capital of Vietnam from 1397 to 1407 and is situated in Vinh Long and Vinh Tien communes in Vinh Loc district of central coastal Thanh Hoa province.

The citadel includes three sections: A bamboo hedge, a moat and the citadel wall plus the internal area with a several palaces connected to each other by marble-paved roads.
