The first international film festival in Vietnam will be held in Hanoi from October 17-21.

This is part of the events to mark the 1,000 anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. It is organised by the Cinematographic Department to promote Vietnamese films and present them to the international scene.

The festival will feature conferences, forums and cultural events.
