A German couple, 27-year-old Nicole Franke and 29-year-old Tobias Pieper, have arrived in Hanoi after 10 months of pedaling.

The couple said this is the first time they have come to Vietnam and they are very impressed by its landscape and people. Ha Long Bay will be their next destination.

The couple decided to begin their long bicycle odyssey in March, 2009. They started from Oldenburg in Niedersachsen state, Germany, where they first met and were living.

They prepared carefully for the long journey. Sixty kilograms of essential equipment were carried on the two bicycles.

Before arriving in Hanoi, they travelled 16,700km and traversed 15 countries, overcoming many hurdles and gaining valuable experience.
