Expatriates in France exhibit their paintings, sculptures

Painter Tran Thi Duy Nga and sculptor Pham Trong Chanh, both Vietnamese expatriates in France, displayed nearly 100 of their works at an exhibition in Paris on December 18, featuring the land, people, history and culture of Vietnam.

The exhibition was attended by a wide range of Vietnamese people living in France.

Painter Nga said she is always homesick, and through the art of painting, she wants to convey her feelings toward her homeland.

Sculptor Chanh, who is also Nga’s husband, said that Vietnamese history and culture are his core themes. His works in the exhibition depict legendary or historic figures such as Lac Long Quan, Au Co, Thanh Giong, and An Duong Vuong.

Nga and Chanh are two of many overseas Vietnamese in France that remain deeply attached to their fatherland.
