Beautiful landscapes and people in Sapa, the famous tourist destination in the North West Vietnam, will come on display at the painting exhibition Sapa’s Impression by artist To Ngoc Thanh at Tu Do Gallery in District 1 this weekend.
The exhibition features 30 paintings made of acrylic on canvas, depicting the splendid sceneries of Sapa Town and portraits of ethnic women as well as daily activities of Sapa people. Works are not the result of quick visits of the artist to the land but by the experience of living there. “In Sapa, I not only feel comfortable with its ideal weather and stunning surroundings, but I am very impressed with the images of ethnic ladies in colorful brocade dresses,” said the artist. “The rustic lifestyle and peaceful scenery inspired me to paint.”
The show runs until September 28 at the gallery, 53 Ho Tung Mau Street in Ho Chi Minh city’s District 1.
