Concert raises funds for unfortunate children

An impressive musical performance entitled “Peace Melodies” was held by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations (HAUFO) in the Opera House on December 10 to raise funds for disabled Vietnamese children.

The art programme attracted members of Vietnam’s friendship organisations, foreign friends studying and working in Vietnam as well as members of the public.

Speaking at the event, HAUFO president Tran Thi Bich Thuy emphaiszed that the Hanoians cherish peace and friendship and they, together with people around the world, will strive to maintain these lofty goals on earth.

International friends and people from the capital city gathered together and sang about peace, friendship and love, and expressed their sympathy for unfortunate children as well as families in difficulty.

Many Vietnamese, Spanish, Italian, Indian, Japanese and Russian songs and dances were performed by artists and students from Vietnam and several countries.

The organising board also raised VND100 million to support disabled children and those with difficulties, and build houses for poor families in Hanoi.
