A copper gong made by an artisan in Dien Ban district, Quang Nam province, has been recognised as the biggest gong in Vietnam’s Guinness Record.

The gong, 2.5m in diameter and 700 kg in weight, is now in Dong Xanh (Green Field) Cultural Park in the Central Highland province of Gia Lai, where the first International Gong Festival will be held this month.

The Vietnamese Guinness Record Centre will grant a certificate and cup to the gong’s owner, Duong Ngoc Truyen, on November 13.
