Beethoven’s symphony opens German Year in Vietnam

Germany’s Berlin chorus in coordination with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Hanoi Opera House on January 23.

The cultural activity opened “Deutschland Year in Vietnam 2010” to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany relationships.

Present at the event were Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Germany’s Minister of State Cornelia Pieper and ambassador to Vietnam Rolf Schulze.

Vietnamese art lovers had the chance to enjoy the famous pieces of music and exchange experiences with German friends.

There will be another performance on January 24.
