Vietnamese film Ao Lua Ha Dong (The White Silk Dress) directed by Luu Huynh is to complete documents for a 2008 Oscar in the best foreign language film category.

The film tells the story of the misfortunes of a Vietnamese couple, Dan and her humpbacked husband, and their attempt to hold on to a precious Ha Dong silk dress that belonged to Dan’s mother. The movie also highlights the beauty of the traditional "ao dai" (Vietnamese long dress) to the audience.
