Twenty-six out of 85 countries have registered to send contestants to the 2009 Mrs World Pageant, which will be held in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau in November, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

During the final round, there will be a 20-minute film about Vietnam broadcast on the Star World TV channel.

The host country Vietnam will hold a Mrs Vietnam Pageant to choose 2 beauty queens to represent Vietnam to compete in the Mrs World Pageant.

This is the second time that Vietnam has hosted a global beauty contest, after the 2008 Miss Universe was held in Nha Trang city in central Khanh Hoa province.
