From April 22 to 30, 2012, the Ha Long Tourism Week will take place in Bai Chay tourism area, Tuan Chau tourism area and central Ha Long city with the attention of cities like: Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh city, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc and other nations like: Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Mongolia, Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, China

The highlight of this tourism week is the Carnaval Ha Long 2012 festival which takes place on April 28 evening at Bai Chay tourism area with 7 thematic programs performed by 3000 professional and amateur artists. The Carnaval this year is based on traditional culture of Quang Ninh, combined with march on stage, on street and at sea. Moreover, the festival is chimed in by the laze light performance at the Square of Culture and Sports Column 3, where locates the decorative lighting system along Ha Long Bay, creating the visual effect for the festival.

Within the framework of Ha Long – Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2012, many other cultural and sport activities will be held such as: Pictures exhibition on Ha Long, cuisine festival, final contest of Best MC about Ha long, cultural and artistic programs on Ha Long – Quang Ninh, sport prizes (beach volleyball, sport dance)…In addition, other ancillary activities are also organized in Mong Cai city, Uong Bi city, Dong trieu district, Van Dong district…

Currently, Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been planning in detail for the organization, guests receiving, accommodation service quality, in order to meet the demand of the tourists participating in the festival. With the harmony among the ethnic characteristic, traditional values, modern style and tourism color, the Ha Long Tourism Week 2012 will be a good chance to promote tourism potentials of Ha Long bay – new natural wonder of the world, at the same time to introduce the beauty of the people and land of Quang Ninh to the numerous local and international tourists, contributing to put the tourism into spearhead economic sector of the local.
