Top 10 famous night markets in Viet Nam

Hanoi, Ha Long, Hoi An, Phu Quoc ... are home to the busiest night markets in Vietnam, which attract a large number of tourists. You can not only try food but also join in hundreds of interesting activities in these places.

1. Night market in Hanoi Old Quater, Hanoi.

 The market located in the oldest part of Hanoi was the first to separate pedestrian and vehicles, it can be found a few minutes from Hoan Kiem Lake, which is familiar destination for many visitors. In this market, a various kinds of products are sold including clothes, sweets, dried fruits, toys, souvenirs, and handicraft products. Besides, other interesting activities and traditional art performances are often held there.

Every evening of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 6p.m to 11p.m, the markets are opened. Hundreds of stalls are placed along the roads of Hang Dao, Hang Ngang, Hang Giay streets,... From 8p.m to 10p.m is the most crowed time there. 

2. Quang Ba night flower market, Hanoi.

The market is one of the most popular destinations for a nighttime stroll among local people. Quang Ba is by far the biggest flower market in Hanoi. Although the market opens 24 hours a day, nighttime is the busiest time for trade, and visiting it before the sunset (3-4 a.m) will give visitors a totally different experience. It supplies fresh flower for Hanoi and adjacent provinces. 

 

3. Ha Long night market, Quang Ninh.

Ha Long Bay is well known among global travel lovers for its floating villages, vast caves and green-tinged limestone formations that make up this UNESCO World Heritage site. Despite being opened only last year, it has grown into a must-visit destination that adds more color and flavor to Ha Long. The market is a low-rise concrete building in the downtown with food stalls spilling out into the streets. It's a great place to try local specialties such as squid with dill, dried squid and other seafood. Besides, souvernirs are also sold here such as necklaces, wooden products, clothes,... made by local people.

Foreigners come here from August to March (the best time to visit Halong Bay). They come here not only to buy souvenirs, enjoy seafood, but also for taking photos of interesting activities in the market. It opens daily from 6:00 pm to late night.

 

4. Hoi An night market, Quang Nam.

Hoi An night market lies on Nguyen Hoang road with 50 stalls of goods and beautiful handicraft products. Not really of trading demand, people come to the market to correspond shopping, enjoy the shimmering beauty of lanterns and food market along two banks of Hoai River with delightful sights. 

The market opens from around 5 p.m through 11 p.m. Hoi An is among the top 20 best night-life spots on the planet, according to Trip advisor users. 

 

5.  Nha Trang night market, Khanh Hoa.

Nha Trang night market is situated on the pedestrian street next to the cultural center 46 Tran Phu. It is a unique design with only 137 length, but has rustic and idyllic features of the beach city in Nha Trang. The night market has more than 100 stalls selling and introducing indigenous products and local culture through traditional food. Night market has souvernir stands, handicraft products, food booths and mobile beverage stores, but the most enticing for travellers are artisan of calligraphy and sand paintings on sites.

 

 

6. Da Lat night market, Lam Dong

The market is located in the Hoa Binh Zone, in the area around Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Dai Hanh and Tang Bat Ho Streets, within walking distance of many restaurants. In addition to the dining experience, if you intend to shop for both nice clothes and reasonable price, Da Lat night market is an ideal destination. Visitors can find multi types of clothes, and it is also a place for foodies with a wide choice on the menu such as soya milk, artichoke tea, sweet tofu in ginger sauce, grilled scallops, chicken porridge, steamed corn, grilled rice paper with cheese, etc. 

 

7. Phan Thiet night market, Binh Thuan 

Phan Thiet night market was opened in 2016 on Nguyen Phuc Nguyen and Nguyen Gia Tu streets, Phu Thuy ward, Phan Thiet City, this is the first night market in Binh Thuan Province. The market has more than 170 stalls that sll goods such as souvenirs, handicrafts and food between 5 p.m and 10 p.m everyday. The biggest attraction here is the fresh, cheap seafood. The seafood cooked at food stalls and restaurants in the market is plucked live from nearby water tanks.

 

8. Ben Thanh night market, Ho Chi Minh City

Ben Thanh night market is a famous place for long-term residents of HCM City as well as visitors to the country's most bustling center. There are at least 20 street-side eating house around the market building, with hundreds of diners gathering to feast on a wide range of the best dishes from all over Vietnam. You may enjoy "bún chả" or "phở", delicious noddle dishes from Hanoi, "bánh nậm", little steamed cake in banana leaves from Hue, or "bánh xèo", crispy rice pancakes from the Mekong Delta, and many other delicacies. Fresh grilled seafood or tasty barbecue pork are also a good choice here.

Besides cuisine, Ben Thanh market serves clothes, footwear, accessories, jewelry, hardware, pet services, crafts, flowers,.... In the market you can find everything from food to all kinds of Vietnam souvernirs symbolic of all regions of the country. 

 

9. Phu Quoc night market, Kien Giang

The market is busy in the evening with a cultural feature of Phu Quoc. It appeals to a large number of travelers and has about 100 stalls along the road sides of Vo Thi Sau. Visitors can go shopping and enjoy Phu Quoc specialities featuring a wide array of fresh seafood with an eye-catching display. Tourists can also stroll down to booths selling souvenirs such as handicrafts, chains, bracelets, rings, earrings made from pearls, shells or natural stones found on Phu Quoc. 

 

10. Tay Do night market, Can Tho

About 1km from the center of Can Tho City to the west of Hau river, located in Can Tho International Trade Fair Center, Tay Do market is not only the trade center of Southern provinces but also an attractive entertainment and tourism destination. Hundreds of speciality fruits are neatly sold in the market with different colors and affordable prices.
