Mu Cang Chai's beautiful terraces

Mu Cang Chai is a district of Yen Bai province. It shares the border in the north with Van Ban district of Lao Cai province, neighboring in the south of Muong La district of Son La province, being the west of Than Uyen Lai Chau province, sharing in the east of Van Chan district and Yen Bai province. The district is located at the foot of Hoang Lien Son mountain range, at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level. To get to Mu Cang Chai District, travelers must pass through Khau Pha Pass, which is one of four imposing passes in the northwest of Vietnam.

Mu Cang Chai with its beautiful rice terraces and winding roads are becoming popular with tourists, while also providing breath-taking from above. 

Many photographers have flocked to this area in order to capture amazing scenery of the small villages on the mountain or the rice terraces. Visitors to Mu Cang Chai, comment on the aroma of rice and wheat that linger in the air. 

The surrounding mountain paths are both challenge and attraction to visitors. Recently, the members of paragliding club Vietwings Hanoi, took some beautiful shots while flying across the area. 

In September 18, the Paragliding Festival was also held at Khau Pha Mountain Pass in Mu Cang Chai, part of the Mu Cang Chai Terraced Rice Fields 2016 Culture and Tourism Week.

Khau Pha Pass become an ideal destination for paragliding.
