The kite festival "Dance of Peace" will take place in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria -Vung Tau from December 6-11 expecting to attract the participation of 23 international kite teams and clubs with 67 artisans from Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan (China), the United States, Ukraine ...etc…

The week-long festival, themed Dance of Peace, will be held in Bien Dong resort, Vung Tau Intourco, Paradise golf course, Phuoc Nguyen secondary school in Ba Ria city, and Huynh Tinh Cua secondary school in Long Dien district.

The Vietnamese delegation comprises 30 artisans from northern, central and southern regions and kite clubs of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

According to the organizing board, the festival will see the competition from artisans from Brazil, New Zealand, Germany and Sweden.

The highlight of the event is a kite show on December 10 night in Paradise golf course in Vung Tau city. Preparations for the 136-minute show with 20 segments have been underway for months.

Participating kite artisans and connoisseurs will also teach kite-making skills to local students, while introducing the history and origins of various kite types, thus inspiring them to preserve and promote the art.-VNA
