Vietnamese culture program to showcase in New York

The Institute for Vietnamese Culture & Education (IVCE) will host a Vietnamese culture program for the Asian Lunar New Year at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York.<br><br>

The program includes the Ao Dai Fashion show and the Dong Ho Folk Painting & Calligraphy exhibition which will be held in two sessions under AMNH.

The first event, the fashion show, will be organized from 2:30pm to 3:30pm on January 26th, 2013. The second one, the exhibition, will be held from 11am to 4pm on January 25th and January 26th, 2013.

Le Thanh Phuong, a fashion designer in Vietnam, will present 30 sets of Ao Dai Vietnamese traditional style with 15 Vietnamese models from the city at the fashion show at the AMNH’s Hall of the Universe in West Central Park.

Meanwhile, artist Vu Hoi will write your name or any short words in Vietnamese or English in calligraphy at the exhibition at AMNH’s Birds of the World on West 77th Street. Visitors can also design their own Dong Ho folk paintings there.

The two events can be attended for free with the museum admission ticket with suggested price of $19. Visitors can also pay $5 for the admission.
