The slightly higher prices than nearby competitor the Elios, which opened around the same time, must be due to the Vien Dong's slightly more impressive facilities. The rooms themselves are similar -- typical midrange fare.
The hotel completed a refurbishment in March 2007 and the interior remains pretty smart, so there is no peeling paint, but it wins no design awards either. Rooms are well equipped to a three-star standard, but the Vien Dong also boasts a conferencing room on the 10th floor, while the second floor is home to a health club including gymnasium, swimming pool and sauna and Jacuzzi. Overall, the Vien Dong is a solid choice for the midrange bracket.
