Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery 

Truc Lam Tay Thien, set atop of Yen Tu Mountain, is located in Dai Dinh Commune, Tam Dao District, Vinh Phuc Province, 85km from western Hanoi. 

According to legend, a monk name Khuong Tang Ho has stayed here to spread Buddhism, therefore, Truc Lam tay Thien is considered as the cradle of Buddhism in Vietnam

 

Overview of Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery

 

The complex was began to build on April 4th, 2004 and completed on November 25th, 2005 with the budget of 30 billion dong. Architecturally, it has feature of Vietnam contemporary architecture with Tam Quan Gate, fine patterns and sophisticated designs. 

 

Truc Lam Dalat Zen Monastery 

Truc Lam Dalat Zen Monastery is a special architecture project beside Tuyen Lam Lake. The construction of the monastery started on April 28th, 1993, and was later inaugurated on February 8th, 1994.

The Zen Monastery covers an area of 24ha. In the middle of 192 m2 main sanctum, there is a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha about 2m in height , holding a lotus flower branch in right hand; the left side of Shakyamuni Buddha is standing statue of Visvabhadhra Bodhisattva riding on a six-tusk white elephant; the other side is statue of Manjusri Bodhisattva riding on a lion. The bell pavilion which is well known for 1.1 ton great bell is set in the right of sanctum. 

The solemn atmosphere, clean air and beautiful flower garden are the attractive point here. 

Beside visit the Zen Monastery, visitors also join in a tour to explore and contemplate Tuyen Lam Lake, pine forest and even discover Dalat on cable car. 

 

Truc Lam Yen Tu  Zen Monastery 

Truc Lam Yen Tu, known as Lan Pagoda or Long Dong Tu, is located in Nam Mau village, Thuong Yen Cong commune, Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province. It was embellished and built by King Tran Nhan Tong in 1293. It is legend that three Truc Lam monks are Tran Nhan Tong, Phap Loa and Huyen Quang used this place to preach sutra lectures. 

Truc Lam Yen Tu is situated on a hill with a unicorn figure lay prostrate. Currently Truc Lam Yen Tu gateway still vestiges of the old store, lane width, the two sides have many monks tomb towers.

 

Impressive Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Monastery

Its main projects comprise sanctum, bell-tower, clan ancestral house, Han Jiang Ancestral Temple and so on. Impressively, 4-ton copper statue Gautama Buddha and Bodhidharma statue made of Narra Padauk wood with the weight of 3.2 ton. 

Truc Lam Yen Tu has proven to fusion and the acculturation of Viet Nam for the cultural elements and foreign religions. The greatest contribution of the Truc Lam Yen Tu is always accompanied with the nation, is “spiritual fulcrum”, reinforce and raise awareness of community links, the spirit of independence of Dai Viet before every hardship of history.
