The presentation of Red River Arts prizes is part of a joint programme between the Institute for Republic of Korea (RoK) Traditional Culture, the Hanoi Arts University, the Asian Society Organisation in RoK, the RoK Cultural Centres in Hanoi and Seoul with the aim of discovering young Vietnamese talents.
With the subject of the Red River, which has lots of similarities with the South Korean Han River, the Organising Committee wished to draw greater attention to the main River in North Vietnam.
The first prize, worth VND10 million will go to Nguyen The Dung, a student from the Hanoi Arts University, for the works ‘The Cover’ (Su Bao Phu), the second prize to Tran Anh Son from the Hanoi Arts University and the third prize to Pham Minh Tung, a student from Hanoi Cinema and Theatre University. One special prize valued at VND10 million will be given to Le Van Thuoc, also from the Hanoi Arts University.
The prize-giving ceremony will take place on Friday, December 28 at the RoK Cultural Centre (no 49 Nguyen Du street, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi).
Excellent pieces of art will be displayed at the galleries in the RoK Cultural Centre and the Hanoi Arts University from December 28, 2007 to January 4, 2008.
