A photo exhibition of lotuses entitled “Rang ro nhung mua Xuan – Sen nhu y – Doi sen 4” (Splendid Spring-Desiring lotus-Life of Lotus 4) by Tran Bich is at Youth Cultural House, 4 Pham Ngoc Thach, HCMC’s District 1 until February 7.

Born in 1946 in Nha Trang, Tran Bich started photographing in 2002 as a hobby. In March 2009, he became obsessed by the beauty of lotus flowers when he was at a swamp in Phan Thiet. Since then he has traveled around the country to photograph the flower.

The display features 66 photos written with calligraphy measuring 60x90cm. On Tuesday, he will participate in an 80-photo-exhibition at Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts in Hanoi to canvas people’s ideas about what should be Vietnam’s national flower.

The photographer has held five photo exhibitions on lotus in HCMC, Hanoi, Hue and Pleiku and donates the money from the sales to the poor.
