The first runner-up was La Ngoc Anh, a 20-year-old student from the United Kingdom, while the second runner-up was Le Xuan Mai, 23, from France.
In the final round, 19 competitors coming from Hungary, France, Denmark and United Kingdom took part in swimwear, nightgown and ao dai (traditional dress) competitions. An important part of the competition is the final interview with all contestants in Vietnamese.
According to the organising board, the winner of this contest will return to Vietnam to participate in some charity activities and become a potential representative in international beauty contests.
Miss Vietnam 2008 in Europe, the first of its kind, is a cultural exchange activity that aims to honour the beauty of Vietnamese women and increase mutual understanding among the country’s girls in Europe.
Also on the night of final competition, the organising board introduced a fund-raising campaign for children in Vietnam to call upon Vietnamese overseas to donate to a fund for poor children suffering from heart disease in Vietnam.
The pageant was co-organized by Tri Viet Company and MP Entertainment Company, with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese Overseas Students Association in the United Kingdom.
