The event aims to promote friendship relations and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK).

The RoK Film Festival is being held at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi from May 8 to 10 by the RoK Embassy, the RoK Cultural Centre, Seoul Shinmun Daily and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark the 16^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
