Over 300 young people from Japan and ASEAN countries to come to Vietnam

328 young people from Japan and other ASEAN countries will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City from November 26-29 under the framework of the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP) 2008.

During 4 days in HCM City, representatives from Japan and ASEAN countries will take part in a cultural exchange with 29 Vietnamese youths, living in their homes and visiting Dai Nam entertainment park. They also visit businesses in Becamex Binh Duong industrial zone.

The welcome ceremony will officially take place on November 26. The Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme have been in operation since the signing of the cooperation agreement between Japan and ASEAN countries in 1974.

The event aims to promote friendship and develop international relations among young people of member states. The programme is sponsored by the Japanese government and supported by ASEAN countries annually.

The Ship started its voyage from Yokohama port (Japan) and has stopped at Muara (Brunei), Jakatar (Indonesia) and Bangkok (Thailand). After docking in HCM City, the Ship will head for Manila (the Philippines) and end its voyage in Tokyo (Japan) on December 10.
