The festival gathers 15 mediums from 11 provinces and cities across the countrywho will present performances of ‘hau dong’ (mediumship) rituals of the Mother Goddesses religion to visitors.
Mediums will perform with instrumentalists and dance teams from the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations (VFUA).
A dossier will be created and further developed from the performances at the festival to serve as the basis for the VFUA and its submission to UNESCO to recognise ‘Chau Van’ as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The festival will end at Doc Cuoc Temple in Sam Son town on February 27.
