A Vietnamese-Russian evening of music was held on December 23 at Hanoi Opera House, attracting Vietnamese scientists, business people and students who have studied and worked in Russia.

The Russian Ambassador to Vietnam also attended the event. The programme was co-organised by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and Hanoi University.

During the event, works by journalist-composer Bui Huy Thong and teacher-musician Phan Van Bich, who had a great love for the Russian culture, people and land, were performed.

The musical evening contributes to tightening solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Russia and is also a meaningful present for Russian friends living in Vietnam on the occasion of welcoming the New-Year 2009.
