Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has directed the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to oversee the organisation of the Mrs World Pageant 2009 in Vietnam, after considering a proposal from the Ministry and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee.

The beauty contest, scheduled to take place this November, will be organised by Ba Ria-Vung Tau in coordination with Vietnam Women’s Union and CIAT Trade, Fair and Advertisement Joint Stock Company.

About 60 countries around the world have registered to participate in the contest. The event is expected to draw hundreds of Beauty Queens from countries worldwide, including the winner of last year’s Mrs World Pageant - Mrs Ukraine, Shmarennova Natalya.

According to CIAT Company, a beauty contest will be held to choose the Vietnamese candidate for the upcoming pageant.

Mrs Vietnam Nguyen Dieu Hoa was honoured as one of the top five beauty queens at last year’s event.
