A Vietnamese art troupe joined others from regional nations at the Asian Cultural Festival 2009, which took place at the World Cup Park in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, on June 14.

Special performances given by the Vietnamese artists, including dancer Ha Thi Kim Chung and singer Thai Bao, won the applause of local audiences.

The Minister Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK, Hoang Xuan Hai, said the annual festival was a chance for Asian countries to promote their mutual understanding and exchanges via dances and songs.

The event was also an opportunity for Vietnam to promote its traditional cultural values, he added.

In addition to art performances, the participating delegations organised booths to showcase and sell their traditional products.
